Filling the Recipe Box

Well, have any of you missed my recipe challenge posts?
Did you think I have stopped after all those years?
Well....I haven't. But for some reason I have forgotten to post about them.

So here you go, a (almost) year's worth of recipes.

The most recent Recipe Challenge at theStudio is all about Spices and Herbs.

I have a few recipes that need this theme, but as of now, I have only made one card.
This is an AWESOME recipe from the July/August 2011 Weight Watchers magazine.  I love it.

Now, I'll share with you the month's past. Remember you can pick up each of these kits at theStudio. And...if you keep an eye out, Let Me Scrapbook will bundle the kits up for extra savings.

In August the theme was Citrus. Love the color combinations in this kit.

I'll admit, I have NEVER made this recipe.  But it was a recent find and instead of pinning it, I made it into a card. I so can not wait to try this. The recipe is from CookieCakesPiesOhMy

In July we were treated with a Red, White and Blue kit. So fun! So Summery.

My recipe is from a Children's cookbook my 5th grader had brought home. We made this and YUM!  It is a keeper.

June was a POT LUCK theme, and we were asked to use any kit we wanted. I used the March 2012 kit and made.....

...a recipe for Tuna Cakes. This is really a yummy recipe, but the kids turned up their noses the first few times we had it. Now, they just eat it in peace. :)

Skipping a few months here, I'll get back to them in a moment.
In March, the challenge was for 5 or less ingredients.

I made two of my favorite recipes from my childhood that I would make all the time.

This kit/challenge was a favorite of mine. It was all about Cupcakes.

I had learned that you could turn any cookie dough into icing.
I tried it.  It worked.
My favorite is the Banana Cooke Dough recipe.
So yummy.
Perfect combo.
Cookie Dough and Cupcakes!

Here is the recipe for the Cookies...
...the cupcakes...
...and the Icing.

Have I lost you yet?  I know...very long post.
Well, Let Me Scrapbook took May off. She needed a break, and I totally understand.

In April, the challenge was for homemade cleaners.

eek....I don't really make my own...so I came up with a laundry hints list.

There you go...I think it looks great all bundled together here.
Remember you can pick up any of these Recipe kits by going to Let Me Scrapbook's store at theStudio.

If you are interested in joining in on the Recipe Challenge, click here.
The rules are pretty simple.
--use the monthly kit
--create a recipe card
--share it on theStudio gallery
--email a copy to Let Me Scrapbook
You will then get a code for a FREE kit for the following month, and a copy of everyone's recipes.

Hope to see you in the Recipe Challenge.

Recipe/Template Challenge

For this month's recipe challenge, I did a mash-up with the template challenge
What is that you say?!  Well...I used the template, fitting it to a 4x6 card and made my recipe card.

Here is a look at the Recipe Card Kit by Let Me Scrapbook.

And here is a look at the Template I used from LouCee Ceations.

And finally, here is how my card turned out.  It is a copy cat recipe from Olive Garden. This soup tastes just like the stuff from the restaurant.

the main font is Technical and title is ZRex

What I've been doing...

I'm still keeping busy at theStudio with monthly challenges.

I have participated in two Designer Challenges.
We got a free mini to use....I made this page.

Then I participated in the Template Challenge. The template is from Scrappy Cocoa.
Here is the page I made with it.
Also used two elements (Tinkerbell and word art) from Britt-ish Designs.

Next up is the Less is more Challenge.
We are given a mini kit by Studio4 Designworks and asked to use all pieces in it.
I wanted to make a spooky page, but when I came across this photo with the sunset, it just fit.
but wait, I like to make 8.5x11 pages...so this is how it is turning out.

Then I joined in the Progressive Scrap.
I didn't know if I would be able to finish, as we had planned a get away. Anyway, here are the daily pages...
Here is where I thought I was done...but the PS leader was able to keep getting me the next day's download and I finished.

Of course I participated in the Monthly Recipe Challenge. The theme was Trick or Treat.
I made a card for Mummy Dogs
Pumpkin Cream Cheese Bars
and since it was my birthday, I made an extra card (my Birthday Cake) of Chocolate Truffle Cheesecake.

Lastly here is the second Designer Challenge.
We used a mini kit from DarleneH Design's Ladie's Boutique
Here is my page.

Challenge Me

Another month and another Progressive Scrap at theStudio. This month we were to use elements from the "OLD SCHOOL" Mega Kit.

These are the elements/papers we were given:

Then of course, each day we were given instructions along with that day's download of what we could use.  So here are my days...
Day1

Day 2

Day 3

Day 4

Day 5

Day 6

Final Page
I also chose to give my page as a Quick Page for those who participated.
Quick Page
NOT only did I do the Progressive Scrap again, but I signed up for the Layout Artist Competition 2012. WOW, I did not know what stress that would be. The first round was rather fun, and luckily I made it to the next round and then I STRESSED.  I made three different pages and debated on which to submit, then I stressed the whole time...and in the end, I didn't make the vote for the next round
Voting at theStudio is kinda like a popularity contest...or just matter of opinion....and I have never won in the majority for those kinda things. My pages need to show a memory, and the papers/elements need to compliment them. I feel like at theStudio the elements are the star and any memory you have to go along is a side note. At theStudio, the more you can add to a cluster, the more votes you are gonna get. So my simpler pages don't get many votes.
ok...so now that I cleared my head, here are my pages I made, and the things I used for them.

First round of the Layout Artist Competition.
We were to use the kit "Black Holes" by Nibbles Skribbles and make a page.
I made a page about meeting our favorite alien...

Then the next round we were to use one of the templates from Aimee Harrison Designs and use a kit or two  from the NEXT DESIGNER CONTEST, either their first round or second round.  I used pieces from jmdt, and jilbert.

I decided to stick with the theme the designers were doing --MOON, and scrap about the Lunar Eclipse from last year.
The cool thing about this page is it received over 20 comments (which means that there were TWO pages of comments).  However, when the voting was over, I only received three votes.

Alrighty....now on to the RECIPE CHALLENGE.
I haven't written about them lately...I'll start with the current month.
This month the THEME was GET WELL, as LetMeScrapbook was having surgery.
Here is the kit,
and here is my cards. One for soup, one for cornbread.

In August the theme was ICE CREAM.
Here is the kit we used
and here is my card.
In July I also made a recipe card for their Christmas in July celebration.
The challenge had us using a color palette...but they also had a mini kit to use.
Recipe Card Starter Kit - Christmas in July 2012

Here is the card I made using the mini kit.

Thats all...I need to keep up better so I can list the fonts I used and all...
